Vivino started the Wine Styles Awards a few years ago as the only industry awards which are determined solely by wine drinkers, not critics or wine experts. For the 6th edition, Vivino went through the ratings from millions of users and select the best reds, whites, and sparkling wines as well as the best Values. To qualify, wines must have received a minimum of 50 ratings from Vivino users. I looked at the best value wines that cost less than 30 Euro, received great ratings and I have selected wines that are fairly widely available so if you want to taste along you should be able to get them in your market. I want to find out how useful these scores are and will rate the wines myself according to the 100 point scale. I am going to taste the wines the same way a Vivino user would taste them – not blind.
