Tasting Wine Made from Store Bought Juice
Today we are tasting a cheap red wine we made using Aldi Store Bought Grape Juice, white sugar and bread yeast. I kid you not. See that video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXmrBmAEcvg
We actually make this wine often. It takes about 5 minutes to put together, and is drinkable in about two weeks or so. It’s just about the easiest wine you can make really. Some people seem to think making wine has to be this complex, convoluted process that can only be done in a lab type setting. Others think using store bought juice isn’t making wine. Here’s some homemade wine making truth: Wine is fermented juice. That’s it. Sure, you can make it from whole fruit and whole grapes, but the juice you get from the store, so long as it’s really juice and not just sugar water, will make wine just as well as any fancy winery grape will. There will be differences of course, as that winery is using a select variety of grape to make their wine. That juice could be a combination of many kinds of grapes, so it’s just “grape”. But, if you’re making wine at about $1.50 a bottle, there’s really little need to get snooty about it, lol. It’s country wine, table wine, house wine, whatever you like to call it, and we like it. So do THOUSANDS of people who’ve follow this recipe. The taste is fruity, sweet and easy to drink. This wine will surprise you.
