Cleaning Wine Bottles 2013 Tips for the home winemaker

While making wine at home is fun and rewarding, the most labor intensive part is cleaning bottle for reuse in home wine-making. Buying new bottles is costly so I have had many friends collect their empty bottles to reuse. Cleaning by hand is effective for a small number of bottles but if you produce more than a case or two each year it becomes tedious to clean dozens of cases of bottles. In this video I demonstrate techniques for cleaning a few or a lot of bottles. Paper and plasticized labels require different techniques. Using a pressure washer is fun and will shorten the time it takes to clean a large number of bottles. Oxyclean and Magic Eraser sponges are two of the best accessories to make this chore less challenging.
